EmailGlide for Mac · Last updated October 7, 2026

The short version. EmailGlide has no servers. Your mail travels only between your Mac and your mail provider (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Apple, or whoever hosts your email). We don't receive, store, sell or share your email, your contacts, your passwords, or anything about how you use the app. There are no ads and no analytics.

1. Who we are

EmailGlide is an email app for macOS made by Norstride, Inc. ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].

2. What the app handles, and why

InformationWhy the app needs itWhere it lives
Your email address and account settingsTo connect to your mail provider. On your Mac only.
Passwords, app passwords, and sign-in tokensTo log in to your mail provider on your behalf. In the macOS Keychain on your Mac. Never sent to us.
Your messages, attachments, folders and flagsTo show, search, organize and send your mail.Downloaded from your provider into the app's private storage on your Mac.
Mail you import from filesTo bring mail from another app into EmailGlide.Copied into the app's private storage on your Mac. Your original files are not changed.
Purchase statusTo know whether you have EmailGlide Pro.Handled by Apple (the App Store). We never see your payment details.

All of this stays on your Mac. We have no server that could hold it, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software.

3. Who your information goes to

Only to the services you choose to connect, and only straight from your Mac:

  • Your mail provider (for example Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Apple iCloud, Fastmail, or your own server) over encrypted connections, so the app can read and send your mail. Their handling of your data is covered by their own privacy policies.
  • Sign-in pages. When you choose "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Microsoft", you sign in on that company's own page in your browser. The app never sees your password, only a token that lets it access your mail, which it keeps in your Keychain.
  • Microsoft Graph. For Microsoft accounts, messages you send are submitted to Microsoft's sending service (Microsoft Graph) over HTTPS.
  • Apple. Apple processes any EmailGlide Pro purchase and provides the App Store. If you have chosen to share analytics and crash data with app developers in macOS settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports; otherwise we receive nothing.
  • Mail settings lookup. When you type an address to add an account, the app asks your Mac's normal DNS service where that domain's mail is handled, and may fetch the domain's own published mail-settings file from that domain's server. The request names only the domain; your address is not part of it. The domain is visible to the DNS service your Mac uses and to that domain's server. It does not go to us.
  • Images in messages. By default, remote images in messages are not loaded. If you choose to load them, your Mac downloads them directly from the sender's image server, which can tell the sender that the message was opened and your IP address, as with any mail app. EmailGlide removes known tracking pixels even then. Images that are part of the message itself are shown without any download.
  • Links. Clicking a link in a message opens it in your web browser.

We don't sell your information, we don't share it for advertising, and we don't use it to train any AI model.

4. Google user data

If you add a Google account, EmailGlide asks for access to your Gmail through the permission https://mail.google.com/ (read, compose, send and delete email) together with basic sign-in information (your email address). Google offers no narrower permission for connecting a mail app over IMAP and SMTP. EmailGlide uses this access only to do what you asked the app to do: show your mail, search it, send it, and organize it (archive, delete, star, mark read) on your Gmail account.

  • Google user data goes only between your Mac and Google. It is not sent to us or to any other server.
  • It is stored only on your Mac, in the app's private storage and the macOS Keychain.
  • No humans read your Gmail. We have no access to it.
  • It is not used for advertising, not sold, not transferred to third parties, and not used to develop or train AI or machine-learning models.

EmailGlide's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke EmailGlide's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

5. Microsoft user data

If you add an Outlook, Hotmail, Live or Microsoft 365 account, the app asks Microsoft for permission to read and manage your mail over IMAP and to send mail on your behalf. The same rules apply as above: the data goes only between your Mac and Microsoft, is stored only on your Mac, and is used only to run the app's features for you. You can revoke access at account.live.com/consent/Manage (personal accounts) or in your organization's Microsoft account settings.

6. Security

  • Connections to your mail provider are encrypted. EmailGlide does not accept an unencrypted mail login.
  • Passwords and tokens are kept in the macOS Keychain, not in plain files.
  • The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox with only the permissions it needs: outgoing network connections and access to the files you choose to open, import, attach or save.
  • Scripts inside messages never run, and the message viewer is blocked from loading anything from the internet except images you allow.

No system is perfect. Anyone with access to your unlocked Mac and your account could see your mail, as with any mail app, so please keep your Mac protected with a password and disk encryption (FileVault).

7. Your choices and deleting your data

  • Remove an account: Settings › Accounts › Remove. This deletes the saved password or sign-in and the copy of that account's mail stored on your Mac. Nothing is deleted from your mail provider.
  • Delete imported mail: Settings › Accounts › Imported mail › Delete.
  • Revoke access: in your Google or Microsoft account settings (links above), or by changing your app password with your provider.
  • Delete everything: remove your accounts as above, then delete the app. Because we never received your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

8. Children

EmailGlide is a general-purpose email app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don't knowingly collect information from children.

9. Optional features that use other services

  • AI writing and summary features are off until you turn them on in Settings. If you choose Apple's on-device model, text is processed on your Mac and goes nowhere. If you choose another service (for example Anthropic or OpenAI) and give your own API key, the text of the message you are working on, or your question together with short excerpts of the few messages that best match it (never your whole mailbox), is sent from your Mac directly to that service, under that service's own terms and privacy policy. Before the first time, the app names the service, shows exactly what would be sent, and asks for your agreement. The key is kept in your Keychain. EmailGlide has no server in between and keeps no copy. You can turn all of it off, and remove the key, in one step.
  • Calendar. If you choose to show your calendar or add an event from a date in a message, the app asks macOS for access to your calendars. Events are read and created on your Mac using the Calendar app's own store; nothing is uploaded by EmailGlide.
  • Unsubscribe. If you choose Unsubscribe on a newsletter and confirm, the app sends the request the sender published (a web request or an email) to that sender. Nothing else is shared.
  • Encryption keys. S/MIME certificates and PGP keys you import stay on your Mac; private keys are kept in the Keychain.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app or on our website.
