Adding an account

Choose Add account and type your email address. EmailGlide works out the rest:

  • Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook, Hotmail and Microsoft 365: click Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft and sign in on their page.
  • iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail, AOL: these providers don't allow normal passwords in other apps, so they need a one-time app password. The add-account screen links to the right page, then click Paste after copying it.
  • Any other provider: EmailGlide finds the server settings automatically when it can, and asks for them when it can't.

Common questions

Why does my provider want an app password?

It's a separate password made just for one app. It can be revoked at any time without changing your main password. Apple, Yahoo and others require them for mail apps.

Google says the app hasn't been verified.

While EmailGlide completes Google's review, you may see an "unverified app" screen. Choose Advanced, then Go to EmailGlide. If Google blocks sign-in entirely, use an app password instead (Use an app password instead on the add-account screen) or contact us.

How do I move my mail from Apple Mail, Spark or Thunderbird?

Mail that lives on a provider's server (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, most work accounts) needs no importing: add the same account and everything comes across. Mail stored only on your Mac can be imported from File › Import Mail using exported .mbox, .eml or .emlx files, or by dragging messages in. In Apple Mail, choose Mailbox › Export Mailbox.

Will my mail update while the app is closed?

EmailGlide has no servers, so it checks for mail while it is running.

How do I remove an account or delete my data?

Settings › Accounts › Remove deletes the saved login and the local copy of that account's mail. Your provider keeps your mail. See the privacy policy for more.

I bought EmailGlide Pro on another Mac.

Open Settings › Pro and choose Restore Purchases. Subscriptions are managed in your App Store account settings.
